In 1971, the Tottenville Improvement Council published a collection of 40 essays written by  public and parochial school students who participated in a local history essay contest.  Each essay was based on the student's interview with an older resident of the community.

This 97-page, spiral-bound, softcover book has been reprinted as part of the Tottenville Historical Society's Folk History Series.
